DESCRIPTION:Meeting\n8.00pm Tuesday 3 March 2020\n\nSpeaker\nSebastian Willems\n\nWe have an exotic speaker for Tuesday 3rd March\,Sebastian Willems\, who is visiting NZ from Germany.\nHis mother is from Belgrade but with family in Lika and other parts of the Former Yugoslavia. His father is from Hamburg and although both he and his mother live and work in Germany Sebastian has spent time with his grandparents in Belgrade and also studied at Belgrade and Zagreb University. Sebastian also speaks English.\nHe is very interested in migrant history and has been compiling a personal video of his discoveries in Australia and New Zealand.\nHe works for the European TV channel ARTE which broadcasts in several languages to many countries. He will tell us about his family migrations and travels and something about life in Germany.\nHe is here with his mother Sanja. On visiting the Museum and archives she was most interested in hearing about our Kolo dancing programme at the club\, as she had been a kolo performer in her youth. She loved our photos and costume displays.
